‘Haunted
R&R Station’ world premiere set for March 16-18
Auditions, crew interviews announced for ‘Mars Attacks Mt.
Pleasant’
MT. PLEASANT, PA - The historic R&R Station Family
Restaurant & Inn and its haunted history is the setting for
Haunted R&R Station – an 84-minute docudrama from Tremont
Avenue Productions, Chicago.
Hotel owner
Sherry Wingrove and other witnesses claim more than 15 ghosts haunt
the restaurant, guest rooms, and Caboose Lounge.
Haunted R&R
Station will receive its world premiere at the hotel where it was
shot on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 16-18, at 19 W. Main
St., Mt. Pleasant. The film will be shown every two hours. But call
the hotel at 724-547-7545, for exact show times.
More than 50
people from Mt. Pleasant and surrounding communities appear in the
film. The 84-minute project is a mix of hotel employee and guest
interviews and staged sequences showing what they say took place.
Director Roger Marsh and his crew spent one week inside the R&R
Station in June 2006 exploring the stories, shooting the interviews,
and setting up the stories using local actors.
The DVD will
also be available for sale to the public and interested retail outlets
beginning March 16.
Marsh said he
is returning to Mt. Pleasant this June to begin work on a larger
project.
“I produced
a serial stage comedy here in Chicago for three years called Dime
Novel Radio Theater.” Marsh said, “We used a group of
recurring characters in a series of one-hour episodes. The new project
is called Main Street 15666, where we are shooting a series of feature-length
and short digital videos, all based on the same characters –
except the fictional characters are all being moved to Mt. Pleasant.
They all live on or near Main Street.”
Marsh will direct
the first feature-length project, Mars Attacks Mt. Pleasant, and
a short, the first in a series of 30-minute episodes, Black Box.

“The 30-minute
episodes will be given away on the Web,” Marsh said, “and
uploaded to sites like youtube.com and myspace.com. The feature-length
videos will be sold as DVDs in the future.”
Marsh is looking
for local actors for Mars Attacks Mt. Pleasant. Anyone can audition
by sending their resume to him. Actors will audition by invitation-only
on March 13, 14, and 15, at the R&R Station.
“This
script has five principal characters,” Marsh said. “And
there are many other smaller parts. We also need more than 300 extras
for this film.”
Crew members
in all areas are also being sought. Marsh said many positions are
still available and film students are welcome to apply. Potential
crew members should send Marsh a letter of interest and meetings
will be held March 13-15.
More information
about this next film project is available at the company Web site,
