Ron
Paul Speaks launches in March
Roger
Marsh and Philip Haddad recently signed with Globe
Pequot Press to produce Ron Paul Speaks, a mass
market paperback with hundreds of quotes from Republican Presidential
Candidate Ron Paul. The book will be available nationwide
April 1, 2008.
Texas
Congressman Ron Paul is picking up increasingly broad support
across the nation – winning several straw polls, on-line
debate polls, and recently set a 24-hour fundraising record
of $4.2 million. Paul’s message of individual freedom
resonates with people of extremely varied backgrounds, unlike
anything seen in recent history. He continues to pick up voters,
funds, and media attention while other candidates seem to
level off or drop out. Meetup groups across the country, on-line
social networking sites and Students
For Paul clubs on college campuses continue to spread
the word.
Ron
Paul Speaks is a collection of direct quotes from Ron
Paul print media interviews, Web and television interviews,
and from his speeches in Congress. Each quote is dropped in
under a topic and the many topics are organized alphabetically
covering a wide range of material based on his beliefs.
As a congressman,
Paul’s voting record is unique. He never voted to raise
taxes. He never voted for an unbalanced budget. He never voted
for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He never voted
to raise congressional pay. He never took a government-paid
junket. He never voted to increase the power of the executive
branch. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office
budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
The quotes
will cover his work as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives,
where he has worked for limited constitutional government,
low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies.
He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents
for his consistent voting record – and the well earned
nickname, Dr. No.
Ron Paul
was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated
from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of
Medicine, before serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air
Force during the 1960s. He and his wife Carol moved to Texas
in 1968, where he began his medical practice in Brazoria County.
As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Paul has delivered
more than 4,000 babies. He and Carol, who reside in Lake Jackson,
Texas, are the parents of five children and have 17 grandchildren.
Paul served
in Congress during the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1984,
he voluntarily relinquished his House seat and returned to
his medical practice.
Dr. Paul returned to Congress in 1997 to represent the 14th
congressional district of Texas. He presently serves on the
House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee
on Foreign Affairs. Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces
of substantive legislation each year. He ran as a presidential
candidate in 1988 under the Libertarian Party. |
